going back to my roots...

for some time now...since graduating from college...and doing more "hands on" projects...I have had this void. The void has been filled in by, washing dishes, doing laundry, my new birds and their new babies, mowing the grass, gardening in general, cleaning the house, helping my friend "re-model" her new house, horseback riding, and just going through the motions of everyday life.

I found myself last night sitting with a sketch book and a micron just doodling away....to the tune of 3 pages of typographic design, abstracts, the dog, quick sketches and various other doodles.

While paining some accent walls in my friends new house I also found myself yearning to paint. Not just walls or refinishing furniture...but something on canvas.

Recently I've had many of these moments. I have found that I my only hands on work is when a problem is presented, not out of inspiration.

So, back to my roots in creativity for the sake of creativity. No problems to solve. No deadlines. No restraints. Just pure creativity whenever it strikes me. Not when someone is paying me for it.
